Campaign to Stop Genocide in Darfur
(Facilitator: Africa Action )
Notes
Africa Action is engaged in advocacy and activism to stop the genocide in Darfur, Sudan, where the Sudanese government has been waging a campaign of destruction against targeted African communities since 2003. More than 400,000 people have lost their lives and millions have been displaced, their livelihoods and villages destroyed by government forces and their proxy militias. Although the U.S. government has acknowledged this genocide, it has failed to take the necessary action to protect the people of Darfur. Africa Action is calling on President Bush to assert U.S. leadership in support of a multinational intervention to stop the ongoing genocide in Darfur.
