Bio
Peruvian Latina
Grad Student at University at Albany in NY in the Latin American and Caribbean Studies Department.
Issues about globalization and its' impact on the Americas is a subject that i am currently investigating and am passionate about. I also am interested in the issue of immigration and the obstacles and abuses immigrants face in this country. I am currently working on issues of migrant workers in NY state as well as the injustices people, mainly women, face in sweatshops on the border of Mexico and the US, but mainly Mexico. I also plan on doing some work on the issues impacting the Peruvian rural community in Northern Peru, especifically the department of Ancash.
Anther issue that i am interested in and am active in is the anti-war issue.
I also am interested in learning about what other students are working on.
I have a weblog of my trip to Peru and Ecuador where i attended the Social Forum of the Americas in Quito. Go to: http://helloliz.blogspot.com
