Bio

Ellis Jones has been teaching college students to make a difference in the world for over ten years. After receiving his MA in International Peace Studies from Notre Dame, he spent the next two years of his life in the Peace Corps working on environmental education.
Since receiving his doctoral degree from University of Colorado, Boulder, Dr. Jones has focused all of his energies on bridging the gap between academics, activists and the average citizen. A scholar of social responsibility, global citizenship and everyday activism, Dr. Jones continues to teach and give presentations on how to turn lofty ideals into practical actions around the country. Following three years as Assistant Professor of Sociology and Director of Service Learning at Sacramento City College, Dr. Jones now teaches sociology at University of California, Davis. He is the founder of The Better World Network and author of The Better World Handbook, (www.betterworldhandbook.com), The Better World Shopping Guide (www.betterworldshopper.org), and The iPod Better World Shopper (www.betterworldshopper.org/ipod).
