Description
Earth Week in Grand Central Terminal is the week-long celebration organized by Earth Day New York, consisting of The Giant Earth Images, and the EarthFair. Because there are many environmental organizations in and around New York City, there are always a wide range of Earth Day activities to attend.

Earth Week in Grand Central includes The Giant Earth Images show which can be viewed by clicking the link on your left. This inspiring projection show features Earth-related artwork, photographs, quotes and messages that are projected on two giant pilars in the Main Concourse of Grand Central Terminal. Several well-known artists have contributed work to the Giant Earth Images, including Andy Warhol, Rafal Olbinski, Keith Haring, Ronald Feldman and others. The continual projections are accompanied by nature sounds, which attract the attention of commuters moving through Grand Central.

Earth Week culminates with the EarthFair, a two-day festival of music, education and fun! Vanderbilt Hall comes to life during EarthFair with more than 50 environmental companies, non-profit organizations, and Earth Day New York sponsors, to entertain and inform children and adults. Many of our exhibitors organize hands-on activities for children, provide products samples, and allow visitors the opportunity to sign up as volunteers, sign petitions, and learn about environmentalism in New York and beyond.
