484-767-0014WHAT: "Lehigh Valley Says No to War!" Students and community members will
gather for a March and Rally to protest the War in Iraq, on the 3rd Anniversary
of the Invasion. Student leaders will Speak Out against the war, at the rally.
The new student coalition, Lehigh Valley Progressive Student Alliance, which
has members at eight schools in the Lehigh Valley, is organizing the event in
conjunction with the community group Lehigh Valley Peace Coalition.
WHEN: Sunday, March 19th, 4:30 - 8:30 PM
WHERE: The march will begin at Parents' Plaza on Muhlenberg's campus (24th and
Chew St.) and proceed through Allentown to Cedar Beach Park (Ott and Hamilton
St.), where the rally will be held.
WHY: The illegal and unjustified invasion of Iraq has left over 2,250
Americans, and an estimated over-100,000 Iraqis dead in the past three years.
President Bush continues to state the need to "stay the course," but we cannot
continue to tolerate the horrors of this war. In light of the new photos
released showing more abuse and torture at Abu Ghraib, the use of illegal
weapons such as Depleted Uranium and White Phosphorous against civilians, and
escalating violence daily in Iraq, we must ask the government, "How many more
need to die for a lie?"
