For the last five years, solidarity activists and friends have gathered from across NY State for a weekend of Spanish classes (with an activist slant), workshops, networking, music, poetry, good food, great people, and tons of fun! The response has been fantastic and participants always ask for an encore!
This year we're going to do it again, but in a new location. The Truxton land trust wasn't able to host us, but you'll love Nature's Song Retreat Center, on 34 wooded acres, complete with a pond, trails, and a great lodge where we'll meet.
S4A Camp will include:
Mini teach-ins on current US/Latin American affairs,
Nueva Cancion and other revolutionary music
Spanish lessons in an activist context at 4 different levels:
beginner, advanced beginner, intermediate, and advanced,
Great vegetarian cuisine
Hiking, swimming in ponds, camping, bonfires, and a great chance to meet and build relationships with other activists/organizers/good folks!
This camp is a major fundraiser for both CUSLAR and the New York chapter of CISPES (Committee in Solidarity with the People of El Salvador).
The fee is $100-$195 (sliding scale) for the entire weekend, including camping, Spanish classes, workshops and food. Please be as generous as you can.
