The Fall 2004 Midwest Socialist Conference:
War, Poverty, Oppression: Building a Left Alternative
Chicago, Saturday, October 9
Republicans and Democrats are telling us that everything depends on who is sitting in the White House. But the most important issues--such as the war in Iraq, higher wages, ending discrimination against gays and lesbians--arenít going to be on the ballot.
Should activists accept what "choices" are on offer from Washington, D.C.? How can we really make the struggles on the street, in our unions and in our schools stronger? Can we build a movement that overcomes the idea of voting for the "lesser of two evils?"
Come to Chicago for a day of discussion and debate at the Midwest Socialist Conference on everything from "Should Progressives Vote for Ralph Nader?" to "Americaís Hidden Labor History" and the "Struggle for Palestine."
*WITH SESSIONS AND WORKSHOPS ON...
