On Saturday April 30 farmworkers and allies will begin a 4-day march for justice from CITA's offices in Albion to demand passage of a bill for equal labor rights. Since the 1930s farmworkers have been excluded from the same rights and protections that most other workers take for granted such as a day of rest per week, overtime pay, disability insurance, and collective bargaining protections. The New York Farmworker Fair Labor Practices Act would remove these exclusions and grant farmworkers the equality they deserve.
