O.A.S.I.S, New Beginnings, the Owensboro Diocese, together with the KDVA/ KASAP Immigrant Task Force have come together to provide a FREE training opportunity. On Friday, June 24th, 2005. The KDVA/KASAP Task Force will offer a day-long workshop: Fundamental Concepts in Serving Immigrant Survivors of Violence. This seminar will be held at the Pastoral Center in Owensboro. This workshop will focus on Language Accessibility, Cultural Competency, and Immigration Issues and Benefits. Even though the information presented is designed around Domestic Violence and the unique barriers that some immigrants face, the information that will be presented is very applicable to the immigrant community in general. Anyone that serves the immigrant community will benefit from attending this workshop. Registration is free, simply return the requested information via mail, fax, or email to me.
