United StatesSince contemporary political thought is too often limited by the use of only certain political tools, concepts and ideologies, Rad-Libs seeks to establish a firm commitment to radical ideas and stimulate intellectual curiosity in order to broaden the scope of political possibilities.
Further, to empower those who refuse to accept the recent endangerment of individual liberty, social justice and minority rights, Rad-Libs unites together all students that share a passion for the uncompromising freedom and equality of all peoples.
The objectives of Rad-Libs are to include, but are not limited to, the following:
To define a liberal society as that which facilitates the greatest possible degree of individual choice and to promote such a society by working to ensure that individual freedom is not limited by political force, economic barriers, or social discrimination.
To redefine and solidify the liberal image and present this image to the public in a meaningful way.
To provide the students of Illinois Wesleyan University with a strong, unified liberal voice.
To promote open-mindedness and educate the public on progressive social issues by engaging the students and faculty of Illinois Wesleyan University and community of Bloomington-Normal in unfettered discourse.
To encourage liberal activism, both on campus and within the community.
To open lines of communication and form productive relationships with other organizations.
To foster an atmosphere of tolerance and mutual respect towards all people regardless of race, ethnicity, creed, gender, or sexual orientation.
To safeguard and advance minority rights by working to ensure that every voice may be expressed freely, listened to, and appreciated.
