337-342-8034GALA (Gay and Lesbian Alliance) is a student led organization whose goal is to promote a diverse and accepting campus for all people regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity by educating the UL Lafayette community about GLBTQ issues, addressing all anti-GLBTQ harassment and discrimination, and providing social activities for all UL Lafayette students.. The name Gay and Lesbian alliance was chosen for two reasons. Firstly, a previous organization, that had since been inactive, had the same name and I wanted to keep it for posterity’s sake. Secondly, the name forms an acronym which is easy to say and remember. The organization is much like a common organization found in high schools, called Gay-Straight Alliances. GALA is not strictly limited to gays and lesbians, but all supporters of GLBTQ issues and people are welcome to join and participate in GALA.This is a campus group.
