The organization is co-founded by both Lee Smith, MDAD President, and Sonny Alfred Sonnenstrahl, MDAD Board Member, governor’s advisory board telecommunications relay representative, the coalition consists of over 40 state and local organizations of people who are deaf, late deafened, hard of hearing, and hearing representatives to the aforementioned. They work to address the common goal of focusing on communication access and networking. The organization is organized to provide support services, networking, advocacy, and education for the diverse Deaf and Hard of Hearing population pursuant to Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code.
