Swedene are an organization dedicated to the preservation of the plant Cannabis Sativa and its sub-species. Our mission is to secure its continued survival and diversity. The sole reason of our efforts is to ensure the possibility of future inquires into the potential usefulness of the plant.
In contrast to the Svalbard International Seed Vault and the likes of it we lack the economical backbone to construct a great vault to protect the precious data. We are not building a vault of concrete and steel. Our resources are not monetary but that of highly passionate individuals, the great collaborative forces of the internets and the fine art of sharing.
We choose to adopt a different strategy. Securing its survival through the dispersal of its genetic blueprints. Instead of storing the genetic information in one single node, we store it in several. We achieve this by collecting and re-distributing the seeds, from and among our members. By acting as a hub in the dispersion of seeds we aspire to create a safe, efficient and reliable means to protect the specie in all its diversity.This is a non-campus group.
